With 1250+ lawyers, 350+ partners, 26 offices and 16 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Finance  team, with the addition of a Senior Partnership Tax Manager.

 

Position summary

 

The Tax Manager is a new role within the Partnership Tax team and will report to the Head of Partnership Tax.

 

The Partnership Tax team is based in London and is part of the firm's Finance function.

 

Position responsibilities

 

The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering the tax compliance cycle for the LLP, its Members and its Corporate entities.

 

 This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Managing the preparation of the U.K. LLP and U.K. Corporation tax computations.
  • Managing the preparation of individual member tax returns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and tax payments.
  • Handling HMRC correspondence.
  • Delivery of Member annual tax statements to include tax reserving and tax reserve reconciliation.
  • Providing responses to Member queries.
  • Managing the preparation of the PAYE Settlement Agreement.
  • Managing other tax compliance obligations.
  • Monitoring tax environment and legislative developments and their impact on the firm and its members.
  • Identification of process and control improvements, including the implementation of technology solutions.
  • Support the Head of Partnership Tax with tax technical analysis and reports on projects as needed.

 

Experience, skills, and qualifications

 

  • Highly organised and capable of designing, managing and delivering an annual tax compliance cycle.
  • Willingness to undertake tasks, as well as reviewing.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Managing workload of self and other team members proactively and independently.
  • Attention to detail and ability to investigate and provide solutions.
  • Confident and clear when communicating tax matters to key stakeholders.

 

Essentials

  • Appropriately qualified (e.g. CTA, ACA, ATT, ACA or equivalent).
  • Strong U.K. tax compliance background.
  • Experience of operating within professional services is essential, Legal sector experience is desirable.
  • Experience of tax software packages and very strong excel skills.
