Our Irish partners, associates and solicitors are highly experienced commercially trained lawyers and would be pleased to offer an internship to a motivated and talented university student whom we believe could support and collaborate with members of our team whilst also gaining valuable hands-on commercial legal and transactional experience and training.
We place a huge emphasis on education, supervision and development of our legal interns and this is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing best in class legal team, accumulating legal technical knowledge and benefitting from our ongoing personal and professional development programmes.
Key responsibilities
The responsibilities of the internship include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting legal research and analysis on topics, cases and Irish legislation as assigned by the supervising partner or associate.
- Supporting lawyers across each of our key disciplines by assisting with drafting legal documents (including contracts, board minutes and other corporate authorisations), conducting due diligence on contracts and preparing case notes.
- Conducting company and Land Registry/Registry of deeds searches using the Companies Registration Office and the Property Registration Authority database.
- Providing general support and assistance on confidential commercial legal projects as needed.
- Attending our in-house knowledge seminars with a view to enhancing and accelerating personal and professional development and understanding of corporate transactions, thereby assisting with future integration into the legal community.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Positive, can-do attitude with an appetite for learning.
