Key responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of partners' and spouses UK tax returns, including extracting relevant tax information from HMRC Government Gateway (tax payments, liabilities, filing information etc);
  • Assisting with the preparation of the LLP tax computation, which will include analysis of expenses for disallowable items and capital allowances calculations;
  • Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax returns and administration of associated quarterly tax payments;
  • Assisting the team in meeting other annual deadlines, both internal and external, including (but not limited to) the firm's PAYE Settlement Agreements, Short Term Business Visitors Register, calculation of tax reserves, provision of annual tax reserve reconciliation statements to the partners, partner personal tax planning and maintenance of partner capital;
  • There will be an opportunity to get involved in different areas of tax advice, which can be varied and will be driven by the needs of the firm and its individual partners.

  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a tax-related role or law firm is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Familiarisation with tax return preparation software (such as Digita or CCH) is helpful.
  • Personal tax experience - ideally ATT qualified (the CTA qualification is the next qualification after ATT, which would be useful but not essential).

Here are a select few benefits that Taylor Wessing offer;

  • Hybrid working (Offering the opportunity to work remotely, while maintaining a social boundary by working from our award-winning offices for 3 days a week)
