With 1200+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 28 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Talent Development  team, with the addition of a Talent Development Manager.

 

The opportunity for you

 

This exciting opportunity will play a key role across various practice areas (Senior Associates & Partners) and business services functions (Senior leaders & Directors). Design and delivery of a comprehensive learning and development offering, in line with the firm's strategic goals and business needs – oversee day to day legal and skills training, other development initiatives and project work. Work with and delegate to Talent Development team members and manage training budget for relevant groups.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Responsible for implementing legal and skills training courses, to include:

  • Managing and planning training courses, liaising with internal staff, external providers, SME's and senior stakeholders e.g. working with Knowledge Lawyers to plan and co-ordinate legal training sessions for above groups.
  • Design, planning and coordination of external UK and International development events, liaising with the Head of  Talent Development  and other senior stakeholders, e.g. International Women's Leadership Academy (Europe),  International Associate Academy (Europe), International Career Development Academy (UK). 

 

Responsible for training needs analysis, to include; establishing legal training needs through liaison with a targeted subset of Partners, PSLs and managers. In addition to establishing Business Services training needs through liaison with a targeted subset of Managers, Heads of Department and Directors.

 

Support the delivery of induction sessions, in addition to design and delivery of skills training and teambuilding events as required.

 

Play a key role in annual projects which may include:

  • International Women's Leadership Programme - UK co-ordination working with the Head of Talent Development and Inclusion.
  • Management of multiple high profile development programmes.
  • Involvement with our Senior Associate Development Centre and various Partner programmes - working with the Head of Talent Development and Inclusion.
  • Awards submissions in conjunction with the UK Talent Director.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Working with our people on personal development; including;

  • Managing the firm wide coaching programme.
  • Use of psychometric tests and personality instruments, including individual feedback (if qualified).
  • Guiding staff on personal development planning.

 

In addition to various ad hoc responsibilities including;

  • Managing budgets/monthly expenditure reporting and training evaluation & reporting.
  • Liaison with the wider Talent team to ensure work is delivered efficiently through the Learning Management System.
  • Involvement in ad hoc project work as required.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

Technical/educational requirements:

  • Graduate and CIPD qualified (preferred).
  • Proven leadership and manager experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior learning & development role, ideally in a professional services environment.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple programmes and projects concurrently.
  • Training needs analysis experience.
  • Course design and evaluation experience.
  • Excellent presentation and delivery skills.
  • Experience of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact and potential within a learning environment.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Desirable: Digital learning/e-learning experience.
  • Desirable: Virtual delivery experience.
  • Desirable: Knowledge and use of an LMS / LXP.
  • Desirable: Qualified coach and familiarity with psychometric tools such Lumina Spark or MBTI.
