With 1000+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 29 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Responsible Business  team, with the addition of a Sustainability Manager.

 

The opportunity for you

 

The Sustainability Manager will play a key role in advancing our law firm's commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sustainability initiatives and strategies that align with our firm's values and objectives. The Sustainability Manager will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to drive sustainability practices, reduce environmental impact, and promote ethical and responsible business practices.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Sustainability Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the firm's goals and values.
    • Set measurable sustainability goals and track progress regularly.
    • Stay informed about sustainability trends and best practices to continuously improve our initiatives.
  • Environmental Stewardship:
    • Identify opportunities to reduce the firm's environmental footprint, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
    • Coordinate efforts across the business as we progress on our journey to Net Zero / SBT
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including partners, employees, and departments, to promote sustainability awareness and participation.
    • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, such as sustainability organizations and community groups, to enhance the firm's sustainability efforts.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Prepare and publish sustainability reports to communicate progress and achievements to stakeholders.
    • Prepare CDP submissions and responses to RFPs on sustainability matters
    • Create internal and external communications and campaigns to raise awareness of the firm's sustainability initiatives.
  • Policy and Compliance:
    • Develop and update sustainability policies and guidelines for the firm.
    • Ensure compliance with sustainability-related regulations and standards.
  • Sustainable Procurement:
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to source sustainable products and services.
    • Evaluate supplier sustainability practices and recommend improvements.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in sustainability management or a related role.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability standards (e.g., ISO 14001, GRI, UN Global Compact, SBT, CDP).
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders at all levels.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sustainability certification (e.g., Certified Sustainability Professional, LEED Green Associate).
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP).
  • Experience in sustainability consulting or management with in industry, legal or professional services.
