With 1200+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 28 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Communications team, with the addition of a Senior Internal Communications Manager.
Key responsibilities
Partnership communications
- Working with the Heads of UKIME and Global Communications, play a key role in the planning, design and delivery of all partner-facing communications. This will include planning agendas for monthly partner lunches and quarterly partner meetings, and content for partner newsletters, as well as drafting ad hoc messages on behalf of senior leaders as needed.
- Be part of the team that prepares and delivers the annual UKIME partner conference including providing input for keynote speeches and presentations.
Team and people leadership
- Manage, develop and motivate all members of the Internal Communications team, setting objectives, ensuring work is allocated appropriately, and quality assuring the team's output.
- Review and approve all leadership-facing work product such as draft speeches and presentations prior to sharing with those stakeholders.
- Set KPIs and ensure high quality reporting.
- Be a member of the BDMC Senior Management Team and role model desired behaviours across the broader team.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Extensive experience in professional services communications roles and a track record of working closely with senior leaders and leadership teams. Ability quickly to inspire confidence and build trust.
- People leadership experience.
- Knowledge of the legal market and issues affecting law firms and partnerships.
- Excellent organisation and project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Comfort with ambiguity and moving targets.
- Ability to handle commercially sensitive issues with discretion and tact.
- Ability to produce a variety of content quickly and to a high standard, including draft emails, presentations (slides and speaking notes), speeches, video scripts etc.
