Our expertise encompasses not only mainstream property law, but also landlord and tenant, construction, real estate disputes, planning and environmental law, tax, corporate structuring and property finance. 

 

The opportunity for you

 

As a Senior Associate, you will work principally with partners, associates, trainees and paralegals within the Real Estate Group, and on a range of matters as detailed below.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Advising on and negotiating:

  • Licenses to assign, underlet, and for alterations
  • Lease agreements, conditional on works/planning consent; liaising with planning/construction teams
  • Leases for landlords (investment properties) and tenant occupiers
  • Deeds of variation and rent deposit deeds
  • Sale contracts for freehold/leasehold sites, including conditional sales involving planning/construction teams; sale agreements subject to leases

 

Additionally, you will:

  • Assist with portfolio sales in the real estate team; reporting/involvement in main sale contracts (asset/share sale).
  • Liaise with lenders for purchase financing; handling reports/certificates of title. The finance team handles finance documents
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously and supervise junior colleagues within the team.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

Ideally you will have circa 5 PQE experience from a top tier Real Estate practice and have a breadth of Commercial Property experience, alongside the following competencies:

  • Strong personal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A commercial focus and a strong technical ability.
  • A proven track record in business development with a high level of client contact, leading meetings and previous responsibility for client files.
  • Ability to provide a high level of client service.
  • Willing to learn and continuously develop your skills.
