The opportunity for you
Taylor Wessing is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Commercial Real Estate Knowledge Paralegal to join our Real Estate Knowledge Team in London.
Working alongside the Knowledge Lawyers, Partners, Associates, Trainees and fellow Paralegals, you will be a key team player using your own initiative and organisational skills to meet key deadlines and make a meaningful contribution to the TW’s culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration by providing expert Real Estate Knowledge Management support to our Real Estate Knowledge lawyers.
Key responsibilities
The following list of duties is not exhaustive but gives a flavour of the duties the Knowledge Paralegal undertakes:
- Building an understanding of the technical and legal knowledge and skills relevant to Real Estate
- Legal research and assisting with legal queries sent to the Knowledge Lawyers
- Supporting the production of current awareness on legal & market developments including the monthly bulletin
- Assisting with the maintenance and development of legal precedents (including the preparation of documents for automation)
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of legal training programmes
- The collection, storage, maintenance and sharing of internal and external legal and market know-how including document redaction, clause bank updates, deal tracker updates, adding content to SharePoint / Intranet / Know How collections
- The testing of various knowledge/legal technology tools, and assisting with implementation and training
- Attend relevant technical training, and identifying and acting on gaps in knowledge
- Be accountable for quality to multiple stakeholders including the Real Estate Knowledge Lawyers.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Have completed a Law degree (2:1 and above) in Law or another subject (in which case you will have completed the PGDL) or have previous Paralegal / CILEx experience
- You will have excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proven experience of working under pressure, demonstrating the ability to prioritise work effectively, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholder expectations are managed appropriately
- You will have exceptional attention to detail, proactively identifying discrepancies and always striving to deliver work to the highest standard
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including legal drafting experience, you will have a professional approach demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple stakeholders' groups
- You will be a committed team player whilst also having the ability to work independently
- You will be a self-starter with a proactive and flexible attitude taking ownership of your work from start to finish and supporting others when required
- Proficient IT skills with experience across Microsoft office tools
- A keen interest in AI / legal tech platforms
Preferred:
- Previous legal experience preferred, although full training will be given
