With 1200+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 28 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Legal Support team, with the addition of a Legal Support Apprentice.
The opportunity for you
This role provides essential support across various functions within the Legal Support team, including the Mail Room, Support Assistants and Records Management. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills, strong willingness to learn, and a positive approach.
This role will be 4 days in the office and 1 day study leave for your apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be for a level 3 Business Administration.
Key responsibilities
Mail Room:
- Post: Receiving and distributing all incoming post.
- Couriers: Sending and receiving couriers – local, national and international.
- Stationery: Maintaining and distributing stock of stationery supplies.
Legal Support:
- Document Handling: Scan and date documents.
- Post Management: Handle hard copy filing instructions.
- Records Management: Manage collection, archiving, recall, Deeds assistance, scanning, labelling, barcoding, and disposal of records.
- PDF Amendments: Perform basic PDF amendments including bookmarking, combining, splitting, compressing, paginating, zipping and OCR functions.
- E-filing: Maintain electronic filing systems.
- Co Sec Registered Post: Scan and send registered post to clients in line with SLA.
- Data Room Monitoring: Monitor data rooms for document management.
- Document Upload/Download: Upload and download documents as required.
Records Management:
- Archive storage: Manage collection, archiving, recall, Deeds assistance, scanning, labelling, and barcoding.
- Records Management: Assist with confidential destruction in line with the firm's retention schedules.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) is beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively under pressure.
- Reliable with a strong sense of responsibility towards assigned tasks.
- Proactive approach towards identifying issues/problems before they arise.
