With 1000+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 29 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Disputes and Investigations  team, with the addition of a Disputes & Investigations Associate.

The opportunity for you

The Disputes and Investigations Group currently comprises [13] partners, [19] associates, 5 trainees, 2 PSLs and several paralegals. The practice has grown significantly in recent years and has extensive experience of successfully resolving increasingly complex and high value commercial disputes across a wide range of sectors worldwide. The group's main areas of focus are financial and regulatory disputes and investigations, high value professional negligence, civil fraud, product liability, international arbitration, contentious insolvency and corporate claims involving directors, shareholders and investors.

 

The role will see the Associate working on a range of disputes across the wider group.

 

Clients include financial institutions, major international corporates, professional services firms, cutting-edge life sciences and technology companies, Governments and high net worth individuals/family offices. The Group has, for example, recently been involved in cases relating to banking and investment fraud, shareholder disputes, corporate finance disputes,  product recalls, investment treaty arbitrations, major asset-tracing exercises arising from fraud and significant claims against Big 4 accountancy firms. The Group has also been involved in a number of significant contentious regulatory matters, including FSA and other regulatory investigations.

 

The role will suit someone looking to take on responsibility and develop their career within a friendly team. The candidate should also be enthusiastic about business development.

Knowledge, skills and experience

The candidate must be a UK qualified solicitor with circa 2 - 4 years PQE.

 

The following experience/ skills are essential:

 

  • Excellent drafting skills
  • A high level of client contact and previous responsibility for client files
  • Experience of a wide-range of complex commercial litigation and/or arbitration, for clients from a variety of sectors. Some exposure to contentious regulatory matters would be helpful but is not a prerequisite.
  • Strong academics and technical ability
  • A commercial focus and good business development skills
  • Confident & personable
