Award-winning and highly ranked, our Corporate Tax team is recognised by Chambers UK, The Legal 500, and Tolley’s Taxation Awards for its excellence in corporate and business tax. Known for handling complex, often cross-border matters, the team advises on M&A, private equity structuring, IP and real estate transactions across sectors including technology, life sciences, and private capital. With three partners and a strong group of senior associates, associates, and trainees, we work closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver integrated, commercially focused tax advice that supports some of the most innovative and high-growth businesses in the UK and beyond.

 

You’ll work alongside leading experts like Graham Samuel-GibbonLiz Wilson, and James Ross, who bring deep international experience and a passion for mentoring.

 

The opportunity for you

 

This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of technically challenging and high-quality corporate tax matters, including M&A, private equity, real estate structuring, and cross-border advisory work. You’ll be part of a team that is well integrated across the firm, regularly collaborating with colleagues in corporate, finance, IP, and real estate.

 

The position would suit someone with a solid foundation in UK corporate tax who is looking to deepen their expertise and take on more responsibility in a supportive and intellectually engaging environment. Key responsibilities

 

  • You will work alongside the partners, existing associates and senior associates to provide tax advice, principally to clients of other practice areas of the firm, but also to clients instructing the group directly.
  • Typically, you will work in collaboration with the corporate, real estate, finance, IP, IT and private client practice areas.
  • Particular areas of focus will be M&A, private equity structuring and transactions, corporate and IP/IT structuring (including cross-border planning and inward investment to the UK), funds work, financing and refinancing transactions and domestic and international tax advisory work, real estate transactions and structuring (from both a direct and indirect tax perspective).
  • You will need to have experience in some or all of these areas mentioned above.
  • We encrouage you to take an active role in business development initiatives driven both by the team and other areas of the firm and in the development and presentation of training programmes for the group and wider firm.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

  • UK-qualified solicitor or barrister.
  • Strong experience working on corporate tax matters and  transactions.
  • Bright with strong technical ability.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.
  • Good personal organisation and file management skills.
