We’re looking for a talented Corporate Finance Associate (4+ PQE) to join our leading UK Corporate Finance and Equity Capital Markets team. If you're excited by high‑value transactions, enjoy working closely with ambitious clients, and want to take on greater responsibility in a collaborative and future‑focused environment, this role offers the platform to do exactly that.
Corporate Finance is one of the firm’s most strategically important practice areas, and our team sits at the heart of many of the most dynamic deals in the market. This is a standout opportunity for a driven, technically strong corporate lawyer who wants to lead on sophisticated transactions, work alongside market‑leading partners, and develop within a team that prides itself on commercial excellence, innovation and genuine collaboration.
Key responsibilities
As a Corporate Finance Associate at Taylor Wessing, you will:
- Act on a broad range of corporate finance matters including private and public M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments, and reorganisations.
- Draft, review and negotiate key transaction documents, including SPAs, shareholder agreements, and governance frameworks.
- Advise listed clients on equity issues, disclosure obligations, and regulatory compliance under the UK Listing Rules, MAR and the Takeover Code.
- Lead deal workstreams, managing cross‑border project teams and collaborating closely with our international offices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across sectors including technology, financial services, real estate, hospitality and more.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a cohesive, inclusive and knowledgeable team environment.
- Play an active role in business development initiatives and client pitches.
- Contribute to know‑how development, training sessions, and sector‑focused insights that shape firm‑wide best practice.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- UK‑qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 4+ years PQE in corporate transactional and advisory work.
- Significant experience advising on both listed company transactions and private M&A.
- Strong understanding of capital markets regulation, corporate governance and UK corporate finance frameworks.
- Exceptional drafting skills and the ability to run matters with limited supervision.
- Proven experience acting as lead associate on transactions, with confidence managing competing deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring junior lawyers.
- Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for developing client relationships.
- A positive, energetic approach and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, friendly and ambitious team.
