The opportunity for you


We are looking for an ambitious individual looking for a career in business development to join our BD team as a Pitch Assistant. If you enjoy writing and like working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering commercial outcomes, we welcome your application.


The Pitch Assistant will play a play a key role in helping the business achieve profitable revenue growth across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East.


You will work alongside practice and sector lawyers and BD and marketing colleagues to support on all aspects of the pitch process. A key focus will be to create compelling pitch documents, with sharp messaging and a strong visual impact that help us to win profitable work.


The Pitch team is led by an Assistant BD Manager and includes two pitch assistants. You will also work closely with our BD and Marketing operations team, as well as our client insights and data team, the design team and team of analysts.


The Pitch Assistant will have direct exposure to senior lawyers and a broad range of colleagues across the firm. As well as technical excellence, you will need to demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. A keen eye for design will be a distinct advantage.

Key responsibilities


  • Pitch support: Support on all aspects of the pitch process initial kick off and scoping to lessons learned, with a hard focus on the conversion of opportunities.
  • Sales collateral. Work closely with Practice and Sector BD teams to assist with the production of sales support materials for client meetings including tailored pitch documents, credential statements, flyers and brochures.
  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues in our client insights and data, pricing, risk, and knowledge teams, as well as across our BD, Marketing and Communications function to bring together insights and information to ensure success in our pitch activities.
  • Content creation. Maintain and update the pitch content library. Further develop and maintain a library of baselines and 'grab and go' sales collateral, enabling us to respond quickly, consistently and efficiently to opportunities.
  • Experience tracking. Support the efficient implementation and maintenance of the experience capture process.
  • Measurement and reporting. Responsibility for pitch tracking, capture and reporting. Prepare internal BD activity reports and feed into internal communications.
  • Panel tracker. Ongoing responsibility for the panel tracker liaising with the sector and practice BD teams to ensure we are rigorous in targeting and leveraging panel opportunities.
  • Projects. Support ad hoc projects, typically focused on improving efficiency, such as developing standard templates or creating best practice content.
