We are seeking to recruit a BD Manager to drive forward our ESG programme and continue the drive to support our clients in this area. This BD Manager will be focused on taking the ESG programme to the next level, working on a range of sector and firmwide initiatives.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established BD Manager who is passionate about ESG and wants to add real value to a firm and tangibly client awareness and profitable mandates in this area.

The successful candidate will work alongside our ESG team and Responsible Business Board to lead the delivery of our ESG BD strategy and raise the profile of our ESG capabilities internally and externally.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead the implementation of the ESG BD strategy.
  • Work across the firm to communicate and confirm ESG priorities and coordinate BD strategies targeting the work we want to win.
  • Pursue profitable and sustainable revenue growth from clients and sectors that are aligned with own sustainability goals and net zero commitments.
  • Develop and foster relationships with key and growth clients and intermediaries active within ESG.
  • Support new client acquisition initiatives; identifying key sustainability issues, key target clients and routes to market.
  • Lead our ESG client listening programme to further understand our clients net zero goals and wider ESG agenda.
  • Work with partners to respond to client and profile-raising opportunities supporting our ESG goals.
  • Create external marketing collateral and content enabling the firm to confidently pursue and win ESG instructions and develop ESG partnerships.
  • Support the pitch process and client meetings from an ESG perspective.
  • Manage external relationships with industry bodies in support of our ESG strategy.
  • Oversee our ESG-related events, communications and content marketing being delivered across the Responsible Business programme (eg Annual Responsible Business Report).
  • Target ESG directories and awards to achieve third party recognition for our market leading team.
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues across our international business to pursue a unified approach to ESG.
  • Build and grow the profile of our ESG capabilities internally.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

The successful candidate for this BD Manager will need:

 

  • Strong BD & Marketing experience in a legal, professional services or financial services environment.
  • Experience of, and a passion for working in the ESG arena.
  • The ability to take initiative, deliver results and positive outcomes.
  • Track record of building collaborative working relationships at all levels.
  • Experience of building or developing a practice or sector from infancy to a tangible offering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong commercial mindset.
  • Ambition, drive, likeability and a strong work ethic.
