With 1000+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 29 offices and 17 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Legal Support (Ireland)  team, with the addition of a BD & Marketing Manager.

Taylor Wessing Ireland is experiencing considerable growth and demand across its practice areas.

 

The BD Manager will support this growth through the delivery of strategic business development, a range of high profile campaigns, events and communications across all of the practice areas within the firm. The role will be focused on our Dublin fee-earners but work closely across global firm, predominantly with the London office.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, the ability to get to know the business quickly and develop a broad range of relationships, and a proactive, engaging and energetic style. We are looking for someone who will bring a strategic mindset and strong planning and advisory skills, along with a willingness to dive into the detail and take a hands-on approach to implementing the delivery of the groups' BD plans.

 

You will be a part of a BD, Marketing and Communications team that is already well-established and respected within the firm for its high standard of service and the ideas and commitment it brings to business development.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with partners, supporting the creation and implementation of targeting plans and initiatives to drive revenue and relationship growth.
  • Working with relevant stakeholders to translate practice and sector goals into specific BD objectives and marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and manage relevant budgets, tracking spend and preparing cost/ benefit analysis where needed.
  • Work closely with the client development team to increase revenue from key clients, increasing market share and share of client wallet.
  • Work with partners and Bids team as required to pitch for new business opportunities, draft or co-ordinate the writing of pitch documents and credential statements.
  • Work with the M&BD Operations team to maintain up-to-date materials for use in pitches and other sales opportunities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date credentials list for each key market within our CRM system.
  • Manage the creation of word-perfect, on-point and compelling client communications materials according to fixed timelines through our internal graphic design and web editing teams.
  • Event management and promotion: liaise with lawyers and shared services teams to drive awareness and engagement among target audiences, deliver impactful and seamless client experiences and assist with follow up opportunities.
  • Work closely with the digital marketing team to create and manage content for digital channels.
  • Support internal communications to ensure that there is a good understanding of activities across Dublin throughout the firm.
  • Manage and support specific thought leadership campaigns, BD products, client communications and marketing initiatives, working with the wider BD, Marketing & Comms team.
  • Enabling pro-active cross-selling into and out of Dublin.
  • Lead on the creation of directory/award submissions to increase market profile and perception of teams.
  • Building strong working relationships with colleagues in international locations to strengthen collaboration and information exchange between all parts of the firm.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

This role is a busy and demanding position yet hugely satisfying and rewarding to work as part of a dynamic, ambitious office. We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge, skills and experience:

 

  • Solid marketing, business development/client relationship management experience at a similar level from within the legal sector or professional services.
  • Knowledge of the Irish market including key industry networks, events and organisations.
  • A can-do attitude with a bias for action.
  • Proactive, tenacious and creative approach.
  • Strong commercial awareness and focus.
  • Ambition, drive and a strong work ethic.
  • Experience within the corporate legal and or tech sector will be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire the fee earners to deliver business goals and change behaviour where required.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, juggle multiple projects and deliver under pressure.
